About Lexie and the Chi
Building the American Dream
Building the American Dream
Lexie and the Chi began as a young married couple’s dream of entrepreneurship.
Wife, Ashley, decided to try making her life long hobby of painting beautiful furniture into a business. So with a few salvaged pieces of furniture, some paint, tons of hard work…miracles happened.
One customer fell in love with one of our furniture pieces and trusted us to paint her cabinets. She told everyone about us and our business exploded! That was 600+ kitchens and nine years ago...
With so much rapid success, husband, Donny, left the Corporate world to take over Cabinet Painting Operations. Donny is constantly researching and perfecting the craft of Cabinetry Refinishing. He attends trade shows and is often contacted by Suppliers as an Industry Expert. He works onsite alongside a handful of amazing employees who share our values of integrity and superior customer service.
If you hire our company for cabinetry painting - you will get to work directly with each of us from the initial Quote to the final installation.
We are blessed to be building the American Dream with our little family and friends. We are beyond grateful for every single client and supporter.

Our Process
Our cabinet painting process starts on Monday and ends on Friday. You can use your kitchen the entire week. We try to be as tidy and quiet as possible. We work onsite no earlier than 9:30am and finish for the day by 5:00pm. We understand and appreciate that we are working in a client’s home around their family.
The first step involves us removing your cabinet doors and drawer fronts. We spray these at our warehouse. We will not spray in or around your home. We hand paint the cabinet boxes onsite. The industrial coating product (paint) that we spray is the same that we use to hand paint the cabinet boxes.
Our preparation process begins with a deep cleaning with a degreaser. This removes any possible containments from cooking, hand oils, household cleaners, etc. This is an important and often missed step in professional cabinet painting. Next we do a light sanding to gain a “tooth” for the two coats of bonding primer that we apply. The last step is applying two coats of the paint which is actually an industrial grade coating with a built in sealant.
Our goal is for the final product to have a smooth and durable "factory finish.” Our clients are always pleased as we strive to exceed their expectations.
